Day 326 (20th May 2006)
We left Tijuana this morning and managed to get through US immigration quite quickly, then it was back on the trolley to take us back to the hostel in Gaslamp quarter. In the afternoon I went to go an see the Da Vinci code movie across the road at the Pacific theatre. In the evening it was hanging out at the hostel on the Xbox.

Day 325 (19th May 2006)
We took another local bus from Rosarito to Tijuana, man this place is crazy. Just after we left the bus to look for a place to stay we could not get rid of all the people trying to get us into there shops and bars. This place is by far the most annoying, in the fact that you get pestered everywhere you go. Despite that, we managed to find a cheap hotel with cable so it's all good. In the afternoon we found a place with 1$ beers so spent most of the time there. We were going to go and visit a few bars in the evening but couldn't be bothered in the end and we were not sure how safe the place was, there were some dodgy looking characters hanging around outside the hotel. Anyway that's 8 days in Mexico complete and now it's back to San Diego.

Day 324 (18th May 2006)
Another day in Rosarito. We went to a bar in the afternoon and spent most of the day there. I mean if you are not drinking, swimming or buying stuff then there's not much else to do.

Day 323 (17th May 2006)
Today we took the hour and a bit bus ride to Rosarito, we managed to find a cheapish hotel and checked in. We had a look around the place, well to be honest it's pretty dead at the moment cos it's a Wednesday. I think we timed the trip a little wrongly as we spent the weekend in the middle of no-where in Erendira. Anyway you can see that Rosarito has got the potential to be a very lively spot especially during spring break when all the 18-20 year olds come down to Mexico to drink. The beach here is pretty nice, it's very long and sandy and along the beach there are a few bars and people that come around trying to sell stuff. In the evening though the place doesn't feel so safe, we tried to avoid walking around too much. It's nice to be back by the sea.

Day 322 (16th May 2006)
Today we didn't do too much, we walked up a massive hill and got some decent photos of Ensenada, we also had a walk around the town and checked out a few shops and stuff. In the evening we had a few Coronas in a bar. There's not too much to do here really so tomorrow we are leaving to go to Rosarito which is located on the coast.

Day 321 (15th May 2006)
We have managed to get a lift to Ensenada from one of the other guests who is heading back to the US, it's about 1 1/2 hours to Ensenada. When we arrived we managed to get a room in a hotel for $22 each a night which is an alright price. There's cable TV and hot showers which is great as at the other place in Erendira there was a water crisis - i.e. No water or very little so it was a little hard to take a shower. We are going to hang out in Ensenada for the next 2 days and then start heading back north towards Tijuana and eventually back to San Diego.

Day 320 (14th May 2006)
It was our last full day here today so we did more chilling out, more pool and table tennis and also went for a couple of short walks around the place. There is some surf and fishing here if that's your thing, but for me I much prefer the ping pong and pool. In the evening we had a few beers and tequilas with some of the other guests and the guy who owns the hostel.

Day 319 (13th May 2006)
Today we had a walk around the place and went down to the beach, we also did the horrendous 2 1/2 hour walk down to the supermarket and back again. So we decided to get enough food to keep us going for the next 2 days. After that we've just been chilling out, playing pool and table tennis.

Day 318 (12th May 2006)
Steve and I left San Diego at around 11am and caught the trolley (tram) to the border between USA and Mexico. It was so easy to get into Mexico it was unreal, there is no immigration control, you can just literally walk across. There is however just one guy by a desk and you press a button. If the light goes red you get your bag checked, if it's green you just pass freely. At Tijuana we caught a bus to Ensenada and then had to change to another bus to go to Erendira, we thought the bus was going to take us right to where the hostel was but it dropped us off at a junction on the main highway and we had to hitch a 12 mile lift to the hostel. We were lucky as we managed to get a lift from an American couple that have a holiday home down there. The hostel is called Coyote Cal's and is really cool. The rooms are clean and modern, the only thing is that the hostel is literally in the middle of nowhere and the nearest supermarket is a 2 hour walk. Luckily tonight some other people at the hostel have given us some food which was really nice of them. The hostel has free pool, table tennis, basketball, darts and a bar with lots of tequila, so it's not like we have got nothing to do!

Day 317 (11th May 2006)
I was going to go and visit an aircraft carrier museum today but I didn't quite manage to find the effort to go and do it. Instead I did nothing, in the evening there was a party at the hostel. I've decided to go and head down to Mexico for 8 days with an Ozzie guy I met at the hostel. We leave tomorrow morning. I will be coming back to San Diego after the 8 day's in Mexico.

Day 316 (10th May 2006)
Today I went to check out a baseball game at the Petco stadium in SD. The Padres (home team) were playing against the Milwaukee Brewers. It was interesting to see the stadium, how the game is played and also the stuff at the start before the game. Baseball is a pretty slow paced game and the Padres only won the game by a margin of 3 home runs to 0. I think I much prefer the footy but it was nice to go to a match just to see what it was all about....

Day 315 (9th May 2006)
I left the hostel at 11am and took the underground to Union station where I checked in my luggage and borded the Amtrak train bound for San Diego. The journey was pretty painless and took around 3 hours. The hostel in San Diego is only a short walk from the station and it's pretty clean. It's located in the Gaslamp quarter and close to loads of bars and restaurants - I could be in trouble here! Well, I'm trying not to spend too much money. Tomorrow I should be going to watch a baseball game at the local Padres stadium.

Day 314 (8th May 2006)
Today I decided to head down to Santa Monica and Venice beaches. In order to get there I had to take 2 different buses and it took an hour and a half. This place is so BIG. The beaches were nothing really special and it was kind of quiet as it was a weekday. I checked out the world famous pier and had a look around Santa Monica. I think the most interesting part of the trip was the bus journeys as you can see some really strange characters on the bus. Hollywood itself is a place for weirdos too as you see many people walking down the street shouting random stuff out loud. Hollywood is slightly different to how I expected, the area itself is pretty run down and not the glitzy glamourous place I expected. Anyway it's been fun here...tomorrow I leave for San Diego.

Day 313 (7th May 2006)
I had a pretty chilled out day today, I've pretty much done everything there is to do in Hollywood so today I went on the Metro down to downtown LA. It was not what I expected, there was just a load of big tower blocks owned by banks and stuff, no shops like I was expecting...pretty boring really.

Day 312 (6th May 2006)
I had a good nights sleep last night probably because of the tequilas! In the afternoon today I did the Hollywood sign walking tour. We got the bus from Hollywood as far as we could go and then walked the rest of the way up to the Hollywood Sign. The walk took about 2 hours in total but the views from above the sign were amazing. You are not able to actually touch the sign as it is alarmed and fenced off but we were really close to it. I got some good pictures from lower down of me and the sign.

Day 311 (5th May 2006)
I did the Bel Air & Beverley Hills walking tour today. The tour lasted about 6 hours and we went to check out the present and former homes of Aaron spelling, Brook Shields, Hugh Hefner (Playboy Mansion), Babyface, Frank Sinatra, Brad Pitt & Jennifer Anniston, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe & Angelina Jolie. I got a picture outside the playboy mansion - it had to be done. We also walked to Rodeo Drive which is an upmarket shopping area in Beverley Hills where all the stars shop. In the late afternoon I walked the Hollywood Walk of Fame and got some pictures by some of the stars in the ground. I also did a tour of the Mann chinese theatre and got to see where all the premiers are shown and also the VIP lounge and backstage areas. Today was "cinco de mayo" which is a big celebration day in LA for the mexican people that live here. Because of that the hostel were giving free tequila in the bar and had a mexican theme night going on, was good fun!

Day 310 (4th May 2006)
Today I went to Magic Mountain theme park with the other guys. This has got to be the best park in the world - it has 16 different rollercoasters. We managed to ride most of them but 4 were shut due to maintanence, I think the best ones were X, Goliath, The Scream and the Batman one. Because it was a weekday the queues were very small and we were able to ride some of them twice and a few of them we queued longer to ride at the front. This place was amazing and such a good laugh. In the evening tonight we checked out a girly bar on Sunset boulevard but missed the premier for Mission impossible 3 - Tom Cruise was signing auto-graphs outside the chinese theatre and also Will Smith and Patric Swayze were there but we missed all that by about 20 mins.

Day 309 (3rd May 2006)
Today I went to Universal studios with a couple of guys I met at the hostel who have a hire car. We spent the whole day at the place. In my opinion I think maybe it's a little over-rated. The mummy ride was pretty good though and the waterworld show was definately worth a look. Other attractions there included a Backdraft display, 3d Terminator 2 show and the back to the future ride. In the evening there was a comedy show on at the hostel so we watched that.

Day 308 (2nd May 2006)
I arrived into LA today at 6am and was unable to check into the hostel until 10.30am. I had to wait around and I was really tired as I hadn't got any sleep on the plane. When I eventually did get into bed people kept coming into the room and waking me up - arrrgghh. In the evening I had a brief look around the area. The hostel is so close to Hollywood boulevard and the walk of fame it is literally just up the road! I checked out the hostel bar it's nice and cheap and they have comedy nights...

Day 307 (1st May 2006)
Crikey it's May already, only 2 months left of this amazing trip. I had to check out of the hostel today at 10am and my flight was not until 10pm, so today I have played a waiting game at the hostel and it's been very boring. Although it's onto a new place now which is good.....
