Day 368 (1st July 2006) - THE LAST TRAVEL-LOG ENTRY!!!
Well today was all about seeing everyone. My nan and auntie came over at lunchtime today and then in the afternoon I went to watch the game over Stu's house. I hadn't seen his house which he has just built in the last year since I have been away. Also in this time two of my other friends have had a baby girl so it was nice to see her and all my other mates at Stu's. Well the football was very unfortunate but I kind of felt that it might go that way.
Anyway so this is it, the end of my trip and the end of this travel log.
You know the last year has been an excellent experience for me. I have completed my 1 year of travel around the world and I have visited 13 different countries in that time. I have learnt alot about the world, the people in it and also a lot about myself. I have also met some truly amazing people on my trip who have all contributed to making my experience a fab one and I thank them all for that. I now have lots of new friends all over the world and I will be keeping in contact with them. You know a lot of people ask me 'What was the best place you went to?' and I really can't answer that, every place I have been to has been so different and has been good in some way. My highlights though include Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, New Zealand, Fiji and Canada. Another question people ask is 'Would you do it again?' and my answer to that is 'Ofcourse, just watch this space!'
Well it's kind of strange to be back now and it's going to take a while to settle back in to things, in the last year travelling I have never been in any 1 place for longer than 2 weeks! I need to find a job again and a place to live and also buy a car. It's gonna be hard for a while until I work things out, but I know everything will turn out fine, it always seems to in the end.
Well, this is my final travel log entry, I hope you've enjoyed reading about me and my travels around the world, I've certainly enjoyed uploading these logs and I am glad that I've got a permanent record of my whole trip.
That's it, it's all over....Thanks for reading.

Day 367 (30th June 2006)
Well the plane touched down at London Heathrow at 1.30pm but we had to wait a long time before we could get off as all the gates were occupied. When I did finally get off it was another horrendous wait at the baggage reclaim. After I finally got my luggage I took a bus from Heathrow to Woking where I caught a train back to Havant. Here I changed trains in order to get back to Swanwick. My trip ended at exactly 6pm when I got off the train at Swanwick station exactly 1 year and 1 day after I left.

Day 366 (29th June 2006) - THE 1 YEAR MARK - I DID IT!
Today we drove back from the cabin to Vancouver. It's now 3.20pm and I'm just about to get all my stuff packed into my rucksack. Soon I will be leaving for the airport, my flight is at 8.30pm tonight and I will be arriving back in London tomorrow. My trip is now coming to a fast end, more to follow when I return home.

Day's 363/364/365 (26th/27th/28th June 2006)
We went up to Shanes families cabin in Barriere (which is near a place called Kamloops) about 6 hours drive from Vancouver. Anyway the cabin was really cool, situated on the side of a lake in the forest. We did some canoeing and fishing and I cut down a tree so we could cut some logs for the campfire - We had one everynight and a BBQ too. I've had a taste now for the real Canada and it's great. Lot's of tree's, fresh air and beautiful scenery. There are brown bears and mooses around in the forest but unfortunately I didn't see any. The time at the cabin was fun and relaxed and we had a good laugh. I'll defo be back to Canada.

Day 362 (25th June 2006)
Up at 8am to watch the game. I'm glad we managed to beat Equador and go through to the quarter finals that's excellent as I will be back home for that game on Saturday! Were not really doing much today as tomorrow we are heading to a cabin that Shanes family own which is in the mountains just north of a place called Kamloops. It's apparently located on a lake in a very remote location so I will get a taste of the real Canada. We plan to do some fishing and chilling out up there, I'm looking forward to it. We will be coming back early on Thursday so I will have enough time to get my stuff ready to leave for the airport for my flight home at 8pm....Not long left now

Day 361 (24th June 2006)
I got a lift to downtown Vancouver today to take a walk around. I first took the seabus across to North Vancouver and had a look around a market over there. Then it was back to downtown where I walked around the Gastown sector. There was a Jazz festival going on so it was really busy down there. I decided then to walk around the center of downtown and finally ended up in a bar where I watched a bit of the Argentina V Mexico game before heading back on the bus to Richmond. Tomorrow is the England/Equador game so I'll be getting up early at 8am for that!

Day 360 (23rd June 2006)
Today I went to have a look around the shopping mall here in Richmond. In the evening Shane's brother was playing in a La Crosse game in North Vancouver and his parents offered to take me to see it, so I thought 'Why not? It would be good to see' so I went. I've never seen La Crosse before so I didn't know how it was played. Basically it envolves 2 teams of 6 players and each player has a stick with a small net on the end. The rubber ball is passed between the players and they have to launch it into the opposing teams goal. The game is very physical so the players are well geared up with head and body protection. It was interesting to watch the game and it was really close in the end between the two teams, however the visiting team clinched the winning goal in the end.

First a short drive around Stanley park to check out the views across the city and also the totem poles of the indiginous people. Then we drove around the town a little to the Gastown sector and then had a walk around the centre of town on Granville street.

Day 357 (20th June 2006)
Did nothing much today apart from watch the England V Sweden game on TV. It seems the players were playing a better game this time around, it's looking a more promising for the next game against Equador.

Day 355 (18th June 2006)
Today I went to check out a castle called Craigdarroch castle. The castle was owened by a guy who found coal in Victoria in the late 1800's. The castle was pretty big inside, it had 4 levels and a tower on the top. In the evening I chilled out at the hostel. Tomorrow I am going back to Vancouver.

Day 354 (17th June 2006)
I got up late today and ventured into the city. I went to grab some lunch and then to check out the BC museum. Inside they have lots of exhibits on the aboriginal people of Canada. There are also exhibits on the animals of Canada and stuff like that. I then took a walk down to the cruise ship terminal and around Fishermans Wharf, there are some floating houses in the harbour.

Day 353 (16th June 2006)
I got dropped off at the ferry terminal today to catch the ferry across to Vancouver Island. When I got to the island I took an hour bus journey to take me to downtown Victoria. I am staying at the Ocean Island backpackers which is centrally located to everything. In the afternoon I took a short walk around the place and saw the parlament buildings and inner harbour. Victoria is pretty small so it's easy to get around. The place itself has a nice feel and it is really pretty, there are flowers everywhere around here.

Day 352 (15th June 2006)
Had a perfect nights sleep last night and was awake at 9am to watch the England Vs Trinidad and Tobago game. Well what can I say, what a shocking performance from England. They need to sort it out real quick if we are gonna get any further in this tournament. Can't believe they could play so badly, well at least we got the win I guess. Anyway after that we went for a walk down to Stevenston and had some fish and chips! Not sure what's on tonight but tomorrow I am going to visit Victoria on Vancouver island for the weekend and am coming back here on Monday.

Day 351 (14th June 2006)
Seattle is boring and full of homeless people! Well I am glad that today I left that place. Took the bus this morning to Vancouver, it only took 3 1/2 hours so was pretty painless. In Vancouver I am staying with a friend I met in Fiji called Shane. Him and his girlfriend are letting me stay at their place in Richmond which is really nice of them. They met me yesterday at the bus terminal and we went to check out Granville island before heading back to their place in Richmond. It's great to get out of them hostels, get a good nights sleep and watch a bit of TV too!!

Day 350 (13th June 2006)
Today I went to check out the Microsoft visitors centre in Redmond. They have some stuff there about the history of Microsoft. They also have a showcase of new products that are coming on the market. You can try notebooks, PDA's, Media players, the Xbox 360 and various other gadgets. It was pretty cool and kept me occupied for an hour or so. When I got back to downtown Seattle I went to see the Pike place market where there are loads of stalls selling fish, fruit, veg and stuff. I also went to the very first Starbucks that existed and had a cappucino. Tomorrow I leave for Vancouver where I am going to stay with a mate I met in Fiji...

Day 349 (12th June 2006)
I took a couple of buses today to go and visit the Boeing factory in Everett which is 30 miles north of Seattle. At the factory they make all of the various models of Boeing jetliners. I saw a 777 being constructed. The building that houses the build of the planes is the biggest in the world. The tour lasted around 1 hour and was quite informative, also at the tour centre there was a gallery of exhibits to look around, they had some jet engines, the tail fin from a 747, a centre fuselage from a plane and some other interesting information and statistics about them. The tour guide was pretty pissed off when I asked him 'how many orders had they lost since the A380 had come about'. Well the answer was that since then not a single 747 jet had been ordered...oooops!

Day 348 (11th June 2006)
Today I didn't do too much, I had a walk around the downtown area and picked up some lunch. Later in the day I did some boring stuff like laundry at the hostel. To be honest the hostel is not in the best of areas of Seattle and it's a bit dodgy to go walking around outside at night so I am avoiding that.

Day 347 (10th June 2006)
I woke up at 9am, just a bit too late to catch the game between England and Paraguay that was on at 6am here, there was probably nowhere showing it anyway here at that time. Well it's good to see we won it anyway, even if it was an own goal. It's a good start. Some good news for me though, my rucksack was waiting for me in reception, it got delivered sometime during the night. The lock on the main compartment was missing and I was left a note inside from security at San Fran, they must have put my bag to one side to check the contents, maybe they thought I had drugs inside. Anyway I have my bag again and everything appears to be inside. Today I went to visit the Experience Music Project, inside they have exhibits about rock bands, Rap music and loads of other cool stuff. There is a section totally devoted to Jimi Hendrix as he lived here in Seattle. There is also a sound lab where you can play around with electric guitars, mixing desks, drum kits, keyboard samplers it's really cool. I spent about 1 hour in there messing around. I thrn went to check out the Space Needle, it's a tower with an observation deck with views across the whole of Seattle. Seeing as I've been to loads of these sort of towers all around the world I thought I should really go up this one too! Going to be taking it easy the rest of today - Seattle seems cool so far..
