YouTube is a popular free video sharing web site which lets users upload, view, and share video clips. Founded in February 2005 by three early employees of PayPal, the San Mateo-based service utilizes Adobe Flash technology to display video. The wide variety of site content includes movie and TV clips and music videos, as well as amateur content such as videoblogging.

 

2. Google Video - Rating *****

Another great site for videos - loads of content here! Google Video is a free Google service that allows anyone to upload video clips to Google's web servers as well as make their own media available free of charge or Google Video Store. Users can search and play videos directly from Google Video, as well as download video files and remotely embed them on their webpages. A great place to find many interesting documentaries that you will not find on the mainstream media.

 

3. MySpace - Rating *****

MySpace is a social networking website offering an interactive, user-submitted network of friends, personal profiles, blogs, groups, photos, music, and videos.

 

4. Digital-Forums - Rating ****

Digital-forums is a good place to find out info on a wide range of topics. People post messages and links to other sites that might be of interest. If your after info on anything it's worth going to this site and searching for it.

 

5. Travellerspoint.com - Rating ****

Travellerspoint is an online community of travellers from around the world. Members participate by sharing their experiences to help other travellers better understand their destinations. The forum on this site is a great resource for anyone that is planning a trip around the world or to a foreign country.

 

6. Howstuffworks.com - Rating ****

Ever wondered how a TV works or maybe how your computer functions - well if you go to this site you can find out how almost anything works - it's full of interesting stuff and well worth checking out.

 

7. Wikipedia.org - Rating *****

Wikipedia is a multi-lingual, free content web based encyclopedia. Currently the site has over 1.5 million english articles available. The great thing about Wikipedia is that anybody can edit or create an article. If you ever need to find out about something then Wiki should be your first port of call.

 

8. Everyhit.com - Rating ***

Search for any UK top 40 hit from 1952 onwards on this site - trying to remember the name of that one hit wonder you like - I'm sure your gonna to be able to find it on here.

 

9. Mini-clip.com - Rating ***

Play or download flash cartoons and games from this site and even e-mail them to you friends - Check it out! It's an ideal site to visit when your bored in the office or have got some spare time at home. There are a whole range of different games that you can play directly through your browser.

 

10. Overclocking Forums - Rating****

Interested in overclocking your PC then these are the forums for you. The forums contain up to date info on the latest available chipsets, motherboard and peripherals and there are a whole range of PC related topics to browse. If you've got a problem on your PC that you can't fix, try posting a message on these forums and an expert will sure come to your rescue.

Have you ever needed to locate a place just from a post code or find a street in a certain location? Well now you can do this easily and simply by checking out Streetmap.co.uk, this site will show you a street map of the area you are looking for just by entering in a post code. Good stuff eh!

 

12. Monster.co.uk - Rating ****

Looking for a job, well monster is a great search engine with over 62,000 jobs on-line. You can apply for jobs straight away and upload your CV so it can be browsed by prospective employers.
