About Me:

I am a pretty laid back person, I try my hardest not to let things trouble me or get me down - life's too short for all of that. I like going out with my mates, the footy and also travelling to different places around the world.

In 1999 I completed an engineering modern apprenticeship in electronics with a large multinational company based in Portsmouth. When I finished in 1999, I worked there gaining valuable work experience up until 2003 when I decided to go into contract work. I was still working for the same company on and off up until the middle of 2005 when I packed it all up to go and travel around the world.

In 2004 I had a Spanish speaking girlfriend for a while. For this reason I decided to study a GCSE in Spanish language at a local college. I got my A* and the ability to converse to a pretty good level - Bueno, Que Tal!

In June 2005 I packed everything in to go travelling for a year. In my contract job I had managed to save up the sufficient funds to enable me to go ahead with the trip. I must admit that this was by far the most scariest thing I have ever done. On completion of my trip (which ended June 06) I have to say that the whole experience was well worth the effort and was not as hard as I had imagined it to be. Although during the trip I did have some interesting experiences like a bus in Cambodia breaking down in the middle of no-where! Travelling to some of the places I did (e.g. Cambodia, Laos) I learnt a lot about the people and how they lived. At the same time I discovered a lot about myself. One of the things most apparent in these countries was that despite how poor the people were and what they had been put through they were still the happiest and kindest people I have ever met! I had many great experiences on my trip and met some really great people, many of which I keep in contact with now. One day I may do it again! In May 2007 I started a new job working for an avionics company in Fareham, the work is slightly different from what I am used to and makes for a great new learning experience - a change is as good as a rest as they say. I also did a couple of trips in 2007, the first was to Barcelona in Spain for 5 days at the end of September. Barcelona is a really great vibrant city..I had such a great time there and met some really amazing people. One thing that made the trip so memorable is that I stayed in one of the best hostels over there called "Mambo Tango" - Which I would highly recommend to anyone planning a trip there.

Over Xmas 2007 I spent 2 weeks in Kata Beach, Thailand. It was great to be back there again, I met up with some buddy's from my new job over there. As always the food and nightlife was excellent and so cheap - I love that place!!

So, 2008 - so far not much has been happening but I have some major plans for this year, and yes it involves more travelling!! For the Easter break I went to Stockholm, Sweden for 5 day's - it was pretty cold over there and lot's of snow!!

Also this year I am also hoping to get to some more interesting places like Egypt, Peru and somewhere else in Europe!!!
